Through the investigation of the remnants of my personal life, I attempt to deconstruct the trivialities of everyday life and build a compassionate space for contemplating what we usually don’t pay attention to or we don't want to pay attention to. Working with performance and installation, I think around the internal collision of my dual cultural identities, Chinese and American, which manifests itself outwardly in my relations to others’ subjectivities. The struggle between my norm and others’ creates a tension that pushes and also encourages me to observe more, hear more, and feel more. I see my works as poetic experiments that meditate on my curiosity and confusion about people.
